TOUR DIARY
Part 12 BE MORE PUNCTUAL WITH THIS DIARY!!!!!

Okay, this is probably more like a years revue give or take a few months, BLOODY BONE IDOL! message to me, must try harder! Right, bollocking over.... whats happened? Well a few things really so if i can rewind the mind , i'll try and remember....So, due to a few landlord changes and pub closure type things, most of April was spent twiddling our thumbs, but at least we got a couple of rehearsals in and also tried some new gear, some in ear monitors for me which sound man Wayne tells me will be fantastic and we can then move my normal floor monitor to someone else thus getting rid of loads of feedback, brilliant, so i'm told. Have to say, felt really strange but having thought about it quite a bit I think Wayne will be right, just a matter of getting used to the buggers, couple more rehearsals with em should sort it, which looks like January - February, song there by Barbara Dixon! How nice! I'll move on! Yes, looking like Jan/Feb will be the time for new material and a shuffle of the set list too, rest a few tha nos, keep things fresh!
Anyway, by now Spring was well and truely here and as usual the weather turned really hot, only to begger off as summer kicked in!! typical. May came and I was reminded of that afternoon at the start of December when I had to navigate my way home on foot due to the colosal amount of white stuff falling out of the sky, and lining up this gig at The Rodley Barge. We knew this was gunna be tight one but it turned out even tighter than expected as we lined up, (literally) on the side wall, I could smell the breath of the punters stood in front of me! Rancid it was, beer, lager, smoke and bodilly fluids.....yuck! and that was just the women! Good gig as far as I can remember and good to see the Pudsey Cobra bikers down there too.

Dave n a few of the cobras!
June 4 and into another new venue, the Shipley pride, new venue and although we were good and the sound good, the venue was very thin on the ground punter wise, Dave clocked two blokes checking one of our set lists and fell about laughing when one said to the other, "Your not gunna like it!" Nice to see the White Cross ex landlady Tracy and her chap and friends, that swelled it a bit and they made plenty of noise too so lovely.
Then whilst enjoying a quiet pint one afternoon I was reminded by a bloke in the pub, that it was the annual Bankstock festival down at the Bankhouse pub, Pudsey, and so been as it was such a lovely afternoon I decided to nip down for an hour and see a couple of bands, got there and who should be there? non other than that guitar fella of ours, Dave, and so to cut a long story short it was about 6 hours later that I made my way home!! Very enjoyable, some good stuff on and also some, well err maybe not such good stuff. Cardinals were good as per.

Dave an' me, soaking up the sun....and lots of yelp
It was round about this time that I had my hols in france, St Astier, near Bergerac, no, its a place, not a tv detective! Very quiet and hot altogether very nice and so one day whilst sat outside a bar in the sun writing and pondering our set list for the Rodley festival, watching the world go by, I discovered French drivers are nutters!! Belting around without a care in the world, pipin their horns at poor pedestrians trying to cross roads, mental, hey ho, so with the smell of coffee in the air and smoke!! pah, it was back to my beer and set list.

Beer and set list, France
Landed back in Blighty on the Saturday just in time for the gig back at the Duck & Drake on the Sunday and once again it turned into a blinder, really love this venue. One moment for concern and a giggle was a punter who came flying into the pub through the doors we were loading the gear in from, now outside it was a glorious evening, bright sunshine so consequently this poor fella had his black shades on, as you would, problem....the pub of course was quite dark especially from the bright outside and in his haste he obviously didnt see my monitor, wayheyyyy........smack, spreadeagled across the floor, just needed Phil to say "oh no not again, anybody got a first aid kit" and all would have been perfect, (see the film!) poor lad.
Now August is the month we have off generally as everyone beggers off on holiday, except Phil of course, who beggers off on holiday every three weeks, whether he wants to do or not! so I spent a bit more time with the film people as it neared its completion and also took off to northumberland to see the Quo play Hogwarts castle, (Alnwick to you) crackin couple of days it was, very drunk, blinding gig and I have to say mightily impressed with 10cc, who were support.

This our stage then?
Very much looking forward to the next gig which was at the Rodley Beer and Music Festival, we were booked onto the Barge stage which in my opinion was defo the best stage of the two, other one at the owl, where you had to contend with a noisy fun fair!
Part of the description of Tiger Bay in the Rodley festival programme had us down as, and I quote! "Pudsey's answer to Ian Dury!".......not sure how to take that!
The day itself was a good day, plenty of sunshine apart from one big ominous black cloud that threatened us during the set, but we frightened it off! Crowd really good and made plenty of noise and had loads of positive feedback after the gig, also nearly had a first, nearly swallowed a wasp in the second number, think that might have hurt!!! But all in all a great day and we're wanted back next year.
Also had the show filmed which werent bad, the sound perhaps not so good but great videoing, cheers Dave Archibald. Has a very sort of "bootleg" album feel to it, might put it out as such with a few tweeks here and there!
What a night was had by all at the premier of "Rags to Riches" the band, minus Dave unfortunatly due to holiday commitments, were all dressed up looking the part in suits and tuxedos, dickies on show, Wayhey......and arrived in style too in a stretch limo, the waiting crowd going wild as we emerged from the car, ok maybe a slight exageration but you get the drift, plenty of em shouting and cheering in truth tho, a few beers and then the screening, great night, probably not going to Cannes film festival for the oscar but great to be a part of.
Then followed a number of gigs, a return to the Owl, Rodley, which was its usual steady away self, The Golden Lion, Pudsey, great night again, The Cross Keys, Morley, which was a bit of a disapointment on the whole due to the thinness of the crowd however them that were in seemed to enjoy it and so we'll try it again next year. The Cricketers Arms, Keighley, may have already mentioned this but really like this gig, got a bollocking off the landlord for been too loud which to be fair was more due to the feedback problems we encountered in the 1st set I reckon, but having said that and adjusting the levels the second set was a lot better, blinding gig, punters jumping about everywhere and nice to play to an extreamly busy pub, good fun with the MILFS down the front!!
Then it was the bash at the Great Northern in Thackley. Hmm..
So i'm just setting off to the gig at the Duck & Drake when the phone rings and lo and behold tis Wayne who says, "There's another band set up!" Not again me thinks and on arrival at said venue sure enough another band are set up, well we're not passing this one up especially as the rowdies crowd are all traveling down to see us.
Had a natter with a nice little bar maid who brought herself up to her full height of about 5 foot and promptly bollocked the band whos name I forget, and told em to get on with it, so they did and we got a free support band to boot......nice.
Actually they were very good, from Switzerland or was it Austria, cant remember, but they stayed for us and thouroughly enjoyed it too. Near riot at the sound check as a rather large batch of punters turned up, shall we say slightly inibriated, went mental to said sound check, falling into people, tables and the stage in varying order thus prompting a later start still as the landlord said and I quote
"Do me a favour wait till they've gone before ya start will ya" Only thing they were waiting for us to start before they even contemplated moving on, oh rock n roll eh!

" You know i've had it in the ear before..."
The George Hotel, Brighouse, new venue this and probably the worst sound we've ever had, set up in a room and trying to fire evrything out through a door way....not a good idea. The Barge, Rodley and a very tight squeeze again, lookily the Cobras motorbike gang came in second set and gave it plenty which lifted spirits somewhat, but it is December, folk havent got money as it is let alone saving for Christmas but there you go and then the final neet of the tour, back home at the Commercial.
What a night, bloody ace ah seh, Me and the Wayne had a plesant couple of hours setting up PA and back drop in the afternoon and thus sampled a few beers as you would and then returned early evening for the backline to go in and soundcheck, by which time it was getting busy. Finished up extreamly busy and all well up for it, went down a storm. So a great finish to the year and now, as mentioned, a bit of time off for Chrimbo and New Year and then back to rehearsals sometime in January for some new stuff, new equipment and a re jig of the set. Seems like ages to when we get cracking again on the "Radical Routes" tour at the end of February but it'll be here before we know it.......ere have yourselves a stonking little Christmas, look forward to cranking up with ya next year, all the best gang, your support has been greatly appreciated.
TTFN
Psssst, little secret for ya......We might, I say might, just have a nice little jaunt with a few gigs planned for next year, very early days so it may not happen at all yet, so dont get too giddy!!! Can't say too much but....buy some speedos!!!!!
xxx
Part 11 TV STARS AND FILM STARS
Had some bad news at the end of March, a big mate of mine passed away very suddenly, only drinking with him 2 days before! Had a lot of good times with Pete in the boozer and more especially in Gran Canaria on numerous occasions, I'll never forget the day fishing on the harbour wall in Puerto Mogan and him tripping over somat right on the edge, fantastic display of ballet dancing to stop himself plunging over the side and into the ogin! It was also Pete who saved me from certain arrest by the Spanish police in Barcelona, man handling me up to our room rather sharpish on a stag do after threating to punch the male hotel receptionists lights out for constantly giving me door key cards that didn't work!!!!!! Nowt to do with me being blasted honest, Pete got the card to work 1st time, Hmmm.
Very very sad, he was a good man with not a bad bone in his body, there must have been nearly 300 folk at the funeral...that my friends says a lot.
R.I.P Pete old buddy.
Okay, well as i write, I am getting increasingly giddy as we get back to gigging tomorrow night, about bloody time, there has been untold problems with landlord changes, pub closures and double bookings over the last few months, seriously cocked things up! Still.....back to it tomora. So Spring is in the air...every where i look around.....song there i reckon...not for us tho, far too slow.....zzzzzzzzzz spots in bits, wot am i on?!!! Yes yes...I know it's love is in the air...smart arse. Hello peeps, tis I the ageing punk ere!, two things.....Motley Crue and Benidorm, two of my favourite things over the last few months, to be more precise the Motley Crue book and the Benidorm tv show. No, not Chrissy pressies, i scrounged em off me mates, tight wad as i am. What can one say, the antics of Motley Crue, well if your not in the know i strongly sugest you read "the Dirt", thats the book title, how they're still living amazes me, but what a great read....mental ah se. and as for Benidorm...well.....i'd never seen an episode till my mate recorded em all for me, fabulous stuff and that Janice, wot a body!!! non of this young whipper snapper stuff I say!
(I'de move on if i were you) yes....quite!

Oooohhhhh...........
Right, well, we had some time off after the Christmas frenzy at the White Cross gig, got drunk a few times etc and also wandered over to the St Georges Hall in Bradford for a rescheduled Jools Holland bash. Bloody unbelievable it was, the whole show especially seeing Alison Moyet too, what a remarkable change, as my mate said when she walked on, "Wheres the rest of her!" Av a gander at her web site, you'll see wot I mean!
Then had the Bold Privateergig cancelled, re booked for later in the year so the first bash of the year was at a new venue for us, the Owl at Rodley. Got there for set up as the restaurant were still serving and been as thats where we were to set up we had time to kill. So Phil, me and sound chappie Wayne went over the road to the Barge for a pint and to suss it out, seen as we're booked in there at the end of May. One can only say that gig is gunna be tight with a capital TIGHT, heavens knows how we'll fit in...but we will and it's gunna be a belter, hot, sticky and loud, am i talking bout Benid..... ENOUGH!
Went down well at the Owl and had a couple of new fans from the Duck & Drake turn up too which was nice, hope to see you guys again soon, twas a bit of a strange set up really, everybody sat at tables in rows in front of us and folk stood up over by the bar area to the right but we got a re booking there at the start of September straight after the Rodley Beer and Music festival on August bank holiday. Looks like we've got a slot but as we speak no firm details have been made, be good will that, led to beleive we'll have an hour set so that should wake a few folk up! Next up was a return to the Golden Lion, Pudsey which again was resonably well turned out and a great reception again, great to see landlord Gary po - going about at the back! Before we knew it, March was on us and before the next bash in Keighley I did my part in a scene for a forthcoming film weve been asked to appear in. The film is called "Rags to Riches" and at this point I can't say any more about the plot, suffice to say, all I can say is we are a band called Needles and Pins who the landlord of a pub has booked thinking we are a tribute band....wait for it... to the 60's band, the Searchers!!! This of course leads to complete mayhem and should be quite funny from what i've seen of the script.
So under the lights of a different kind and under the glare of the cameras i did my bit, just a lead into the film where, as part of the band, I roll up pushing a flight case and lighting rig over my shoulder and ask the landlord for the dressing room, not too much but you'de be suprised how long it took with different camera angles and set ups etc. One of the next scenes to be shot is the band scene at the pub with all of us, thats this Saturday as i write, 28th May, can't wait, should be a scream.
Then we moved on to another new venue, the Cricketers Armsin Keighley, very small venue, but I like em like that, quite busy, well received and another gig later in the year with the promise of a boat load of folk who are "Really into your sort of music", pub full of punks then next October.
The following week we should have been appearing at the Ring O Bells in Queensbury but having noticed in a whats on magazine the name of another band on that date, I tried on numerous occasions to contact the venue to sort this out, eventually giving up due to no phone backs at all!!!!!!!
So at short notice we dropped into a cancelation at a venue i,ve been chasing for some time, the Rose and Crownat Cleckheaton.

Or something very similar...ya get the picture!!
This was a gig i'll tell ya, went through every emotion going!
On arrival it was clear to see it was a pub that loved theyre rock music of a biker persuasion, and reasonably well turned out, after first song, Anarchy.....nothing... maybe one hand clap, oh shit! Were never gunna make it. But we started to win em round and eventually they began to like us.... i think! Got told at half time they did appreciate us even if it wasn't there type of stuff, so we began the second half an two songs in..............ghost pub, about 3 people and maybe a dog, an thats being generous....ah, errrr....2 songs later doors are nearly swinging off theyre hinges, pub heaving crowd at front going mental, i instantly locked onto one, shall we say, well endowed, llady down the front, tremendous cleavage! Me an Dave hanging off each side of the PA, a fantastic end to the gig. 3 encores, landlord going nuts about how we 'de blown away any previous punk bands he'd had on, me thinks we'll be back.
And that chums is about it for now, I'll try not to leave it so long next time, should hopefully be loads to tell ya.
Right, come on fellow thespians lets go act......... Toodle pip old beans.
Part 10
Boy did we get pissed last night or what, the White Cross Christmas bash!! Stone me guv, bit of a headache tha nos!
So from our last outing we rolled into Morley, to do a gig that Dave wanted to do as he felt we could get a paying gig out of it, was a charity bash at the Cross Keys in Morley.
.
On stage Cross Keys, Morley
This is a reet venue i can tell ya, well reknowned for live music and you could tell. The band had got 3rd spot on. A great turn out who it has to be said were really up for it. Now slight prob as we had to bring in a stand in for Phil, due to prior arrangements and so helping us out we got old mate and ex Tiger Bay keyboard player, Phil Wardle, who now plays with Crush and the Mighty Rhythm, see the 1990 version of Tiger Bay in gallery.
Phil did a graet job for us at short notice as we smashed our way through a 25 minute set, really well received by all and some great reviews on Rock of the North.......cheers Cross Keys you were great....see you in May guys for a full show.

Phil Wardle
Crush & the Mighty
Rythmn
Worlds End, Knaresborough, Mark had brought his own renta crowd and a good job too as this bolstered a, shall we say, small audience!!, the WAG's all had plenty to chat about and catch up on and got pissed! Other than that, very poor turnout and as was pointed out to us the pub is generally busy........IN THE SUMMER!! Great! Presented Phil with his suprise painting of himself as done by my dad, Phil wanderin round the pub showing the picture to anyone he could find, saying look, thats me! Dave said, "look at him he's like a dog wi two dicks! The following weekend we took the show off to Shipley at The Branch. The day had been a typical Autumn type of day, very grey, slightly misty and pissing it down, which put doubts in my mind as to whether or not we would end up with an audience. By the time we arrived at the venue it had cleared a bit and we had a few in...but only a few, real shame as Darren the landlord was a smashing bloke and he and Niki are trying real hard to get the venue going, i can really see now how hard this recession has hit. The few that were in were boppin along nicely until half time when they left, great. However, we made some new friends who are now regular viewers to this ere site and are awaiting our next gig in that area with baited breath and probably the best sound anywhere, pub must just be a natural, soon as we started the soundcheck I knew, sounded great on stage and Wayne gave us the thumbs up out there so we were happy...just the lack of punters.
Sometime after this I took myself off with a few buddies of the TB Rowdies to see Goldblade in Leeds. What a great set of blokes and John Robb, well what can i say, absolutly crackers, in the nicest sense, what a front man defo go see them again. Nice to go see a band and see things from the punters side for a change!

Feel deranged is the state i'm in - Goldblade
Cross Keys Skipton, what can I say about this.......well, nice venue, quite a large room and a fair few in to boot, nice people, got a good sound again and the punters made a lot of noise and generally enjoyed us, two of which actually wanted us to play their wedding, great. So whats the problem? Well must have been the landladys hatred of punk or rock or something as she decided punk wasn't really what fits at the pub!! So there'll be no return to that venue. Strange with all that dancing and jiggin about in front of the bar!
Had a spare month in November so what better way to spend it than to organise a couple of rehearsals for some new material. We did just that and on the first night fair wizzed through 4 new tunes, being Janie Jones - the clash, Pretty Vacant - Sex Pistols, Ruby Soho - Rancid and What do I Get - The Buzzcocks all of which went down really well and were finally tweaked at the next rehearsal and brought straight into the set at the Duck. Few more ideas still, which means we can chop a few out and also be in a possition to alter the set about as and when we see fit.
Dave had us in fits of laughter agen at rehearsal, told us of this Indian Sex Pistols tribute band he'd heard of called.....wait for it....The Six Patels !!
Then the week end before the duck, i took off with me mate Andy on a hairraising expedition to Bridlington to see the mighty Quo. Snow bucketing down but we finally got their met up with a load of old Quo fans...what ya mean they're all old! Yeah ok ya right...infact in the gig itself it was fantastic, the band of course are always fantastic, but i've never been in a place so full of M.I.L.F.S actually could be G.I.L.F's!!!! I digress, and then another gig, Jools Holland at Bradford, or should have been, however the heavens opened with tons more snow, result... gig cancelled!
Duck & Drake
What a night, one of those gigs ya just crave for, we love this venue, rolled up reasonably early and got set up although a few technical probs, firstly with the main sound mixer so we had to borrow the inhouse desk and secondly with a borrowed lap top for the pre gig music, but apart from that we were set up and sound checked and ready for the 6.00pm show in plenty of time. Great to see a number of the Rowdies down and great to see a pretty much packed pub.
Started a touch under par i thought but this lasted only a couple of songs as the band clicked into gear and delivered a cracking set. Every song greatly received and plenty of air guitar, air punching, jiggin abart from the assembled crowd and all round great fun, best audience yet i reckon. Fantastic response to the four new numbers previously mentioned although might help if i can remeber the lyrics a bit more, ahem! Got smacked round the swede 4 tmes with Phils bass and also let the new 2011 tour title slip just before Ruby Soho, so for those of you who weren't there.....tough tit! Just had to adjust the word "tough" there cos i'd spelt it touch...........mind you, touch tit, yes thats probably better! Don't be so damn rude! Left in high spirits and nursing a F*****g parking ticket,.... bitch! Thats both me and Mark now, same venue!
And so the punk rock and roll circus rolls into Pudsey town once again and the final night of the years "Anarchy" pub tour, the White Cross. Suffering with a bit of cold and a bad throat all week, aaaaggghhh! But kept pumping the old remedies in ..................then, near disaster as Phil rang to say he was struggling real bad with the flu and might not be able to do the gig. Panic sets in but the following day he rang to say he'd be fine...phew!! Next up Dave rang, honking up and the "Tommy Wrights" but "I'll be there". says he, he did too and not looking quite the picture of health to say the least, we decided it might be best to have a large bucket stage side for any of 3 to chuck up in!!! Throwing up on stage, thats punk rock & roll for ya. As it was the bucket wasn't needed.
Another blinder to finish off the year, pub packed and goin nuts, jiggin about and punching the air like twas goin out of fashion, which i thought it had but obviously it hasn't, even in the VIP lounge. Talking of which all in there were more than happy watching the new Tiger Bay "Static picture Book" DVD (available in the new year folks at all our gigs, plug over!) and munching on the selection of pink smarties, normal smarties and bombay mix, very generously paid for and supplied by the band!££$***!
Mean time out front the crowd went potty, a number of which were resplendant in punk uniform, some looking gorgeous and some.....errr...well, not, to be honest, mind you that was only the Alison Moyet gone wrong look by..............................well that be telling now wouldn't it........Steve!
Also raised over £170 for Marie Currie Cancer Care people with a spontaneous head shave at half time, well done all.
Whole thing went down a bloody storm really, band clambering about on the furniture and PA and all in all a fantabulous end to our 2010 outings.
Well done to Becky, (landladys 18 year old daughter) for raising the temperature even further in a hot sweaty pub atmosphere, with her get up, frightened most people in the pub especially the band who are obviously far too old for that sort of thing, hope the puppies survived!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and er... yes on that note, have a stonkin' Christmas, ta very much for your support over the year and we'll see you bright and early in 2011, January to be precise when we resume the tour that never ends, this time, the
" Destination Unknown" Tour. Oooops let it slip again.
Happy Christmas all and av a reet gud New Year.
Well I do beleive it's going to snow again! Av a few on us, all gift wrapped like!
Tata fa na

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr......
Part 9
Right,... history lesson coming up!
We're talking the mighty whites here, yes thats Leeds! Well actually twas the mighty blue and ambers ie Leeds City to be honest. The club was elected to the Football League in 1905 but during the 1st World War there was a sequence of financial irregularities, including breaking the ban on paying players during the war, that led to the club's dissolution in 1919. They were expelled from The Football League eight games into the 1919-20 season.
In the wake of their demise, Leeds United were formed, and entered the Football League the following year.

Leeds City 1916
On 17 October 1919, an auction was held at the Metropole Hotel in Leeds, where the playing staff was auctioned off along with other assets of the club. The 16 members of the playing squad were bought by 9 different clubs for a total of £9,250. So I got to thinking maybe, just maybe the auction happened in exactly the same room as the band played just over a year ago at the wedding bash we did there, the same room, imagine, 91 years later......oh I cant get me hat on with this!
Ok, I'll get on with it, a week after Jane & Wallys wedding we returned to The Golden Lion at Pudsey, we like this venue, ya can really crank it up and we got a far better sound than last time, cheers to Wayne for this. Then we headed to The Tarn, Yeadon, got there and set up just before a major rain storm albeit not for too long, heard so much about the place but very disapointing crowd wise, one can only presume they were brassed off with the weather or were having a barbaque all the same, however we were told that those who were in really enjoyed it, a big change from the normal bands they get. Evidence of this was seen in the shape of one bloke po - going around the room with another bloke over his shoulder, each to their own eh! Good room for a gig, for set up and sound but...well maybe we hit it on the wrong night. Next up, the White Cross, Pudsey.

Photographer Mandy spent most of the night taking some crackin pics of the band, (See gallery 2010) and once again Wayne did a great job on sound for us. Really looking forward to our next visit which is, get a pen and paper ready, December 11th. Tis a Saturday night and is the official White Cross Christmas party, fancy dress for anyone who fancies it and i'm sure tis gunna be a blinder, some new tunes too in prep for 2011, all being well.
Then it was off to one of them festival type thingys and the Bankstock Festival, in aid of Martins House, a local hospice for children and young people with life limiting illness's. We missed last years event having missed the application date however this time the day itself dawned rather nicely with lovely sunshine and pretty much stayed that way throughout. So very lucky with the weather. We had been given the 3rd spot on the bill, got there nice and early and helped ourselves to the free beer for the bands, excellent idea, got on stage about quarter past two and woke everyone up! With hindsight, the promoter admitted we should probably have been on a tad later in the day, especiallly banging out Gay Bar at that time of an afternoon with loads of tea pot lids running around, (Yorkshire slyming rang for kids.....get it? good eh?) anyway, we is what we is!! Really good to catch up with our old keyboard player from the early ninties, Phil Wardle and also Mark Lawson who always accompanied us on those mental Welsh tours of the same era. Me and the Dave stayed for a while and got pissed on the free beer, well one of us did, other was driving! A week later and i'm on my way to the Duck & Drake, when Dave rings and says "Your in for a shock when you arrive" I was, another band all set up, result, a double booking, gig cancelled till later in the year, which was a real pisser as we had loads of the Tiger Bay rowdies fans turning up which they did only for us not to be there, not good. On to a gig we originally were gunna do last January but had moved, the Bold Privateer, Wrose , Bradford. Personally i thought a great gig and i wasn't on my own in that thought either. Great to see a new gang of fans at the front who seem to be awaiting the next bash with baited breath. (Many thanks guys.) Again sound good and the P.A. decided to get involved with the stage effects too and began smoking, yes I know, a filthy habit but it is old enough! All in all good reports and bookings for next year.
So that was that as we went into the August break Phil has been jetting around the world in between gigs and continues to do so, presumeably arranging gigs as part of the next World Tour, (anybody who would like to sponsor this event we'de love to hear from you, we dont want too much really, normal flights will do, not bothered about 1st class etc, mix with the punters, thats us, but hotels we do draw a line under, so we would like the

Roxburgh Royal Lancaster Royal Decameron
Roxburgh in Edinburgh, the Copthorne in Cardiff, thats where all the cabin crew girlies stay! Londons Royal Lancaster would be fine, whilst the Royal Decameron in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and the Shangrila in Sydney would all do smashing, they've all got big beds, pools and decent bars so we'de be fine, you'de have no need to worry) sorry, just went off on one!!! Others attended a wedding in Crete, which was absolutly brill, (all the best Dan & Loz) and where a singer in a punk band was spotted walking down street in suit and panama hat carrying pink balloons....yes quite!!!
Anyway, current update is, as we head towards the final gigs of the "Anarchy" tour, we are now working on new material (some blinders I can tell ya) and dates for next year, how soon it all comes around.
Eeee....how I ramble!
TTFN.
Part 8
Well, we finally managed to get a rehearsal in to go over a couple of new song ideas, 2 by the Clash, namely, "Stay Free", which i have to say is a beauty, this song has come about by Jane and Wally asking us to perform the song for their 1st dance at the wedding in May, and "Janie Jones", which will be a cracking song but needs a few rehearsals yet. Then we had a look at another song for the wedding only this one is a massive suprise for the bride and groom, so under no circumstance, must ANY OF YOU mention this, otherwise we'll cut ya balls off!!. One of they're fave bands are Goldblade and a track entitled "Strictly Hardcore", it is mental maaan......an it dont arf fly, all singing and chanting and i can see complete "CARNAGE" as Mark so delicately put it, when we throw this in at the end of the neet as part of the encore.
While we're on the subject of encores another song we chucked in at rehearsal was a song last done by us at the final (or not as it happens dear readers!) Tiger Bay bash back in 1996 at the Worlds End, Pudsey. Rather strange then that we should blast through it in one take, that been the Cult's "Lil Devil", oh joy!
So this means we have now put "Basket Case" into the set itself, along with the aforementioned and jigged a few things around to what we hope is a well balanced and enjoyable set list.
Three days later and we returned to The Savile Arms at Hunsworth, as i've said before, really nice olde worlde type boozer, and we are outside in the specially erected marquee. The occasion, Steve, the landlords 30th birthday!
Stage set up looked ace with a couple of union jack flags added to the main back drop and chance for the band to chill backstage with a pint or two for an hour or so whilst a young chap, who's name i missed, did his bit to entertain the crowd and a great job he did too, well done mate.
So, we're halfway through "Stay Free" on its first public airing, when this female copper comes wandering in waving her arms about in and effort to stop us playing, we of course duly respond and it turns out Steve, the landlord, is in a spot of bother!
Too noisy? Neighbours complaining?....No mate, you sit there while i take my kit off and wiggle about all over ya!!
Naughty looking little minx wi blond hair, in some areas that is!!! In others well...................anyway, FANTASTIC I say!!!!

(More of this minx with less clothes soon!!!!!)

Moving swiftly on, Init funny how things happen sometimes, suddenly without any warning an email floats into the bands newsdesk asking if we're playing at O'neills in June as a HEN PARTY of all things, are looking for a good old rock gig....then at the bottom was the signature.....Julie of the sausages...YES THE SAUSAGES.....our fantastic little fan club we got to know whilst giging at the Dynley Arms all them years ago.....unbelievable.
Bit of time out through April with a couple of rehearsals leading up to the wedding, but before that we returned to O'Neills bar in Leeds.
Bit of a strange one this time round, busy 1st set with the band in good form but then at the interval the pub thinned out some to which the second set began to a disappointing crowd. Still well received by those there especially a bevvy of beauties up on the balcony, but then quarter of an hour later and the doors are nearly coming of their hinges!
Place busy again and the crowd very responsive, "Better than that bleedin' Hawkwind I've just bin ta see!" (quoteth chap from Doncaster).
Couple of encores and in went "Strictly hardcore"...marvelous!!! and oh yes nearly forgot to mentions Phils new axe maaan.....(over done rock star accent!) Very rock n roll.
Next up, the much awaited wedding of our good friends Jane and Keith, from now on refered to as Wally! not for any malitious reason just his surname is Walton! Goodnight John Boy! Goodnight Hairy Melon!...Come on keep up!

Mr Todd propin the bar up
Have to say this was a first, a wedding bash in a morgue!!!I kid you not!
Made sure I was escorted to the dressing room everytime I can tell ya, not wandering about on my own!
What a day, an absolute scortcher, Jane ya looked ace, and not a spike in sight!!! Wal's you looked good too darling! Anyway had a few in the pub at lunch time then 'ome to relax before we headed off to the gig. Talk about rush job, we were using the Cardinals gear, this the band who were headlining, which didn't arrive at the venue til about 6.45 (us on at 7.30!!!). So we just had to sit in the sun suppin lager until 7.45 when without any soundcheck we struck into the first dance "Stay Free".
What with the weather, loads of folk outside but by all accounts the show was really enjoyed and the secret of "Strictly Hardcore" went down a storm witht he bride and groom, the look on their faces a picture when they realised.
So a cracking gig, great little bash from the Comuknobs, featuring Wally the groom and Graham our ex landlord, good show from Arron, hope i've got the name right and the Cardinals, who we should hopefully be appearing with again at the BANKSTOCK FESTIVAL in July, so even though a shortened set, all in all a great night.
Hopefully have some pics soon especially the little blonde!!! copper, oooh rather....

Part 7
Happy New Year chums, hope you are all well after the Christmas and new year shananigans, what about the weather eh? Yeah, what about the weather Nick! SNOW I MEAN, SNOW bloddy hell, I thought it was a thing of the past for us English type peeps, but oh no... did it come down? Did it!
Tis a good job the "We're goin' down the pub" tour had finished cos i seriously doubt whether we'de have made it to some gigs, especially Mark who got snowed in numerous times up there in aragat....ooopps sorry, Harrow Gate as it is pronounced up there tha nos.....very posh you know!

Snow in aragat
Well, got to admit had a reet blast over the seasonal period, little un got us up at some ungodly hour Christmas day and this after a rather busy shall we say, Christmas Eve but it was worth it and then.......aghh, everything becomes a blur again!
Due to the weather the band only managed to re group a few days before our first gig of the year and the start of the "Anarchy" tour but as true pro's that we are, (Yeah ok ok, ya don't need to inform the trading standards!!!)
we fair rattled through the set and very convincingly too may I add.
And then we were back on the road before we knew it, the Duck and Drake in Leeds. Strange start time of 6 o'clock.........but........

.......four clicks of Marks sticks and "RIGHT.......NOW......HA HA HA HA ......"
I had a feeeling it was gunna be a good un right there and then, although I have to admit I did have a touch of anxiousness before hand, wondering how we we're gunna be received. Need not have worried tho as it went down a storm, crowd a bit ont thin side but really appreciative, and as the bar staff said it was straight after Christmas when all boozers are a bit dead, but i've got a feeling it'll be a tad busier next time sometime in the summer!
Next up the following Saturday and we're back in Pudsey and the rescheduled bash at the White Cross, another blinder, this time really nice and busy, infact packed i'd say. And on display the new lighting rig! somat else to play with, and it wont send ya blind either!!! actually it might cos they're a bit bright them LEDs.
Bloody hell we're a loud set us lads which was further emphasised by Tracy the new landlady who remarked about the bottles on the shelves behind the bar having the st vitas dance or something similar, shuffling their way very nicely across the shelving!
Enthusiastic support down the front with the guys dancing about some what manicly, shirts off to boot (not a pretty sight) and also spending a bit of time rolling around the floor, not sure whether this bit was supposed to be part of the dance or somat to do wit beer intake!.....i presume the latter! Anyway made for a fabulous evening.

Well after such a good bash we just had to retire to the after gig bar!! where it turned into another rather late and messy night as you would expect!
Then it was the turn of another Pudsey pub, the Golden Lion, amazing that it was my first gig there since 1979 when i was going out with the landlords daughter, lovely girl..yes. What....31 years ago, hells teeth! As i said on the night, best not leave it another 31 years me thinks, actually we wont cos we're back there at the end of May.
Good gig, went down well, although Dave wasn't too happy sound wise, nowt to do with Wayne I hasten to add, just that the PA was positioned way in front and one side behind a stone piller so no overspill, i'm sure we'll get round it. But the crowd enjoyed it, packed again...thanks you lot...some new faces and some regulars not to mention the Tiger Bay Rowdies. Great to see Mick and Dave with their version of pogoing sitting down, well were getting on a bit and so are us fans!!! Oh i did chuckle.
Due to play the George in Idle a couple of weeks later but this was cancelled as the pub were receiving complaints regarding noise from the neighbours...hey ho.
So peeps we hope to see you all next week on the 13th March back at the Savile Arms, Cleckheaton. Really looking forward to this, is it really 6 months since we were there on that red hot day.
Catch ya later
Tata
Part 6
I CAN'T BELEIVE I'VE GOT TO BLOODY DO THIS ALL OVER AGAIN....AGGHHHHHHHHH.
Bloody great, just got part 6 all written up cut it to send it live and lost the f*****g lot! "B******S" !!!!
Right, ere we go again, there seems like loads to natter about this time round and tis gunna take a load of brain power to try and remember things. If i remember rightly the next thing of note was the return gig back at the Commercial and of course the return of Mark to the hot seat. Due to this quite probably we were ready for it and definatly on form. Bit less on the punters than last time however there were enough there to make a row and support the band esspecially those at the back, jumping about on the furniture and punching the air when required! All in all a good gig and the confidence certainly coming back.
Nine days later and we're into the last week of September would you believe.....NO I BLOODY WELL WOULDN'T! Why, because you would have thought that the colder weather would be decending on us but no, we roll up at the Saville Arms, Hunsworth in beautiful sunshine, red hot it was, everyone sat outside suppin' and eagerly watching us as we set up in the purpose built marquee. I tell ya it was like middle of July, well the July's that we used to get, if anyone can remember that far back.
The gig itself was to officially re launch the pub and went in a flash leaving folk shouting for more. Massive turn out from the local bikers with a fantastic display of triks, ( is that how you spell it, i don't know, anyway tricycles I am trying to say) and nice to be able to have our kids there to watch, mine watched for... oh at least 30 seconds before spending the afternoon running round the car park and dancing on the back wall, Alex on the otherhand, proped up stage left in front of his dad Dave, taking it all in.
The pub itself is well worth a visit, very homely olde worldy traditional type thingamijiggy and............oh my goodness tis snowing like f**k outside, now i mean, as i sit here writting this a week to Christmas, glad i'm not in Blackpool as i could well have been with a few mates for the Status Quo bash tonight, instead a nice night in with a few tins watching Everton ont box!
I digress, yes, lovely pub and looking forward to returning for the gig in March, see gig guide.
Now we've not played Leeds for yonks, apart from the wedding earlier this year, infact I can't remember the last time we did it, but October marked the return with a gig at O'Neills bar. The gig happened about as a mate of mine Ozzy, (no not the real one) had put a good word in and whilst discussing the possibility a cancelation came through so we snapped it up.
WHAT A BLOODY BLINDER!
Reet gig I'll tell ya, place was rammed, plenty of very nice female form and it was of course great to see the Tiger Bay rowdies fan club! in attendance. For all the gig was littered with mistakes oops, it went down a storm folk really up for it.
Dave out front playing to a group of young ladies dressed as school girls, as you would and then at the mention of Gay Bar the whole place seemed to ripple resulting in the stage been stormed by a number of blokes and a couple of girls, who promptly took Phils mike and helped !!!??? out on the vocals. Phil took one look at the group heading his way and with the sound of "up against the wall" still ringing in his ears, shot back at great speed to the back drop and there he stayed, arse pressed ever so tightly to the wall, taking no chances whatsoever!!!
After the gig we resisted the temptation of the red leopard!!!(only joking darling!) and me and Dave took to the Commercial for a few beers.......few beers my hairy arse........at 5.45am I decided it might be best to bugger off home, so I did with just the hint of a slight wobble.
And so the 2009 "We're goin' down the pub" tour abruptly finished as a mix up in dates resulted in the much awaited White Cross gig having to be rescheduled, ( catch you all in January gang, can't wait) and then the Wellington in Eccleshill had the plug pulled by us as it appeared something was amiss at the pub, permanently locked up, curtains drawn and a pile of post behind the door, not to mention no contact.
So all that remains is for me and the lads to wish you all a very happy Christmas and new year and to thank you for your wonderful support over the last 12 months, we look forward to seeing you all again in 2010 and doing it all again. I leave you chums with our E.Christmas card to you....a picture of our new backing singers for next year!!
Take care & all the best
Old Saint Nick

Part 5
AND THE GOOD NEWS IS FOLKS..............
MARK'S BACK!!
YEP INDEEDY, THE NOISY GIT AT THE BACK IS BACK IN THE HOT SEAT, just in time for the bash at the Commercial this Friday the 11th Nov and how good is it to see him back. Thats probably enough now as with all this attention he's likely as not to be able to fit through the Commercial doorway with such an inflated ego and head swell!!!
But, seriously, it is great to have ya back mate, by the way i've got some homosexual blue jeans aswell now!!!
So, summer rattled its way on and so do rehearsals, of course we had to find a temp to take the drum stool and Andy ..... who plays with Daves t'other band, Adverse Camber, very kindly stepped in to help out, and so without further ado............... a very big thank you Andy, it is really appreciated you could do that for us.

We needed to do something quickly of course, what with the private wedding we had coming up in Leeds so me and Phil had a get together over the obligatry pint or two!! and worked out what we feel is a cracking set which should see the band on stage for about 45 minutes, ("If this was a compilation album I'd definatly buy it!" said phil!)
We left the main set alone to concentrate on this and Andy got involved straight away, a number of songs he already knew anyway, however, a number of new songs are currently being worked on which when completed will bring the set list up to 26!
Also a couple of re workings one of which is " I Melt With You" which we have altered the key and for the better I would say.
Saw a video of Bowling For Soup doing this song and thought it was better suited to me vocal wise, since playing the original I felt the vocals were too deep and lost, this version is far more in line for me, so I reckon that will work really well in the set. Band introductions seem to have found an ideal spot too as you will see at the next full bash.
So rehearsals came to a close at the start of August as various band members began bezzin round the world on holiday etc and i started decorating, great!
And then, suddenly, it was here...the wedding.

The Metropole Hotel, Leeds, the scene of a fine gig to celebrate the wedding of Joanne and Ronnie, we of course wish them both all the best.
With its ornate Grade II listed terracotta facade, it has recently undergone a substantial programme of refurbishment at a cost of over £6 million, placing it firmly within the elite of Leeds City Centre’s flourishing collection of luxury hotels. The elegance and splendour of The Leeds Met’s frontage is complemented by the chic style of the interior – clean, muted tones and contemporary furnishings lend a distinctly modern air to this historic hotel, without detracting from its original...........ok ok, quit the PR, we get the message!
Showtime originaly set for 6.00pm but was put back to a more realistic time for rock and roll of 8.00pm.
Sound checks got underway about sixish before the band settled down with a pint and a chat, there were infact a number of acts on on the night, first up, a very good female soloist sang the first dance for the couple and then another couple of numbers with guitarist.
Then, lights down and the strains of the toy dolls, Nellie the effalump came booming out the pa.
Ah, thats our que boys, lets rock, and so we did, a fine set for about 45 minutes in danger of shaking the very victorian foundations to their extrematies
Stage set fantastic with the lighting and making an appearance for the 1st time since 1996, THE FOG!!!
Twas always part of the Tiger Bay stage show back in the old days and i've gotta say twas grand to see it back, FANTASTIC, ok,some might say old fart, but to me down right rockand roll, so nagh, yah boo an all that!!
Some rather grand stage wear on display too as you'll see when the official pics are published.
Special mention to our new man in the ranks, Wayne our sound techy guy who did a great job, under extream presure having to deal with ALL the acts requirements!!!, cracking sound from the pa. I reckon the next bash will be a walk in the park for him after all that!
The crowd a bit muted but what do you expect with grannys, aunties and uncles etc in attendance, all nicely sat round the tables suppin wine, they did watch tho and we did get good response on the whole and a few die hards down the front diving around po going and head banging.
And so chums, we hope to see you all with shall we say a more lively crowd down at the Commy (Commercial, Pudsey to you!) tomorrow neet the 11th Sept, oh and by the way tis Phils birthday too...so go easy on the presies but please make sure ya bring a wallet or purse, depending on how you hang!!
See ya lata.
Part 4
Did we really do that!!
17 and a half thousand crowd, Headingley Carnegie Stadium, Rhinos v Wigan Warriors, Sky TV and Tiger Bay stuck out in the middle of the pitch!
WHAT A COME BACK GIG!
Things don't change, once again us Tiger Boys go for the jugular.
Reminded me in a fashion to 1990 when the new line up played their first gig at the Pudsey Carnival on the back of a wagon, tell ya what we thought that was a big crowd, and so it was......but BLOODY HELL!!!
So Friday the 13th, what could possibly go wrong.....

Met up around about 4.00 for sound check and then spent time in the cafe bar with a few drinks and somat to scran and then wandered over to the main stand and the dressing rooms. It was at this point while me, Dave and Mark were loitering in the players tunnel, peering across to the now full south stand, that Phil came flying down the stairs shouting,"Nick I could kiss ya!" Waghh hold on whats going on, well it turns out that we were sharing the dressing rooms with the Rhinos dancers, lovely bunch of girls!!
Sooner have a kiss off them by far, no hard feelings Phil!
Ere, now theres a thought, we could av em appear in a vid at some time!!

Having got changed Phil proudly sporting the Bedford tartan kilt, which I must say has been a massive talking point! We were called to stage as they say. And out we went.... what a feeling.
A cracking rendition of Swords of a Thousand Men and it was all over in a flash. Stayed pitch side to watch our opponents The Irregulars who were very good it has to be said, but following watching the first half of the Rhinos tonking Wigan we were marched out onto the pitch again for the result! A win for the Tigers!! and a possible re appearance before the Harlequins match in the final on April 24th.
It was then back into rehearsals for the homecoming gig at the Commercial.
Talk about nerves, don't think i've ever been as nervous for a gig, not even the stadium, difference being although you know theres 17 and an arf thousand out there ya cant see anyone as opposed to the Commy when the crowd are completely in ya face, the whites of their eyes watching every move!
A glorious day led up to the eve and the pub got fuller and fuller until show time and off we went, straight into Tommy Gun and Holidays in't Sun and the rest is history, a fantastic crowd, (nice to see a few old faces from our old days), gave us plenty of support singing along and dancing and falling over!! so a massive thank you to all of ya.

Then of course there was the case of the flying knickers!!! not the skimpy little numbers we used to have thrown at us (yeah right!) this pair, when unfurled, were proper Bridget Jones style, is this something to do with our age me thinks. Anyway they came in handy as a head warmer for Phil! See the pics!

Gig itself was to be fair a bit wooly round the edges, quite a few forgotten lines etc, not to mention a whole section of one of the Ramones no.s, oops! and a second set better than the first, not that anybody seemed to mind and again it was all over in a flash. Talking of flashes, plenty of photos taken, see gallery. So now back into rehearsals for a few more numbers to bolster the set, definatly need a couple of encore numbers and try and tidy things up a bit more, but when all said and done, not bad for the old guys to say its been 13 years an all that.
Now many a strange thing has happened to Tiger Bay over the years, but this takes the biscuit, as i am about to do right now...custard cream, lovely!!
Dave rung me the other night to say somebody had left him a message on facebook, guess who he asked me, No idea I replied after a couple of unsuccessful guesses.........Ian "spider" McHenry, yep the very same, bass player in the early days who non of us have had sight nor sound of in 20 years, (see history page) turns out he's living in India!!
Right shock I can tell ya, esspecially as a few of our old fans were saying "all it needs now is spider to wander in an the crowds complete." this at the Commercial. So there ya go, 3 days later he gets in touch.......world of strange eh?
Tata fana
Part 3
Hello, tas been a while aint it? Been so busy what with one thing or another and of course setting up this web site, but were now here to give you the low down on whats goin on.
Well, summer, if it ever happened at all, has definately buggered off to be replaced by, well, freezing cold actually.
Now unfortunately the hope off the band playing before Christmas didn't materialise however things are going well and i have been reliably informed by Dave that we now have two sets of 9 songs, which i'm quite surprised about. It seems like we've been rehearsing numerous songs which have in fact mounted up without us really knowing.
This is a good thing in my opinion as now we can get down to writing a set list and rehearsing that to perfection, (well as near as we can get to perfection for us!!!) and at the same time adding a few more numbers. We are currently working on some new material with a few other ideas floating around, so it's going in the right direction.
Because we're getting close now, i reckon we need a couple of quick fixes as i call it, songs we can bash out in one take basically, got a few in mind so we'll have a look at these at next rehearsal.
On the gig front, the White Cross has gone, not literally, although nearly on bonfire night when the fire was built higher than the pub and consequently started melting the windows of the house at the top of the car park! Got to say at this point that friends Sean and Viv had finished as landlord and landlady and left the pub which as a result had led to a relief going in. Anyway as a result, the fire brigade came out and gave me a right old laugh. I legged it up the street just in time to catch this fire fighter in full gear asking 3 youths!!! what they thought they were going to achieve with a normal garden hose pipe without a nozzle. As he turned to walk back to the appliance the 3 youths decided to shower him with a spray of water, dick 'eads, firefighter never flinched. So i walks up to the appliance as hes rolling out the hose pipe, sez to his mate "full bore", turns and gives the youths a short blast from his hose. Result, all that can be seen is a big jet of water and three pair of legs flyin up in the air, he then set about the fire. Mines bigger than yours ha! Fire not only melts windows but burns down three phone lines to boot........great comedy.
So as i say that gig will be no more, but the Commercial looks set to be a good un, i get the immpression from various locals the place is gunna be heaving.
Also there is a strong possibility that a few support slots will be undertaken, news will follow in news and gig list.
Gotta say, it's good to be able to refer folk to a proper web site of the band, i'm sure it will not only be informative once were up and running but a source of great amusement to all our new friends and supporters who can look back at old images of the band.
Watch out soon for a new section on the site, GALLERY, some right sights for ya.
Tata for now

Part 2
So is that it then? Summer over,Sunday,Monday,Tuesday, who knows, answer is probably.Well never mind eh, least it's better weather than they've just had in Basle, did you see that rain, fair play to the Swiss and the Turks for attempting to play a game of football in that!! Anyway gang, how is everyone, well, I trust? First of all you may have noticed a little activity in the gig list posts, not too much but just a smackrel. Having spoken to Graham, landlord of the Commercial in Pudsey, he told me he is more than happy to give us Tigers our first gig there and this has been echoed by new landlord and landlady, Sean and Viv at the White Cross also in Pudsey,(of course, if we've done the Commy then the Cross won't be our first gig and more to the point it probably won't be at the Commy either cos I have a feeling a launch nite party is gunna be arranged to try out the set in front of family and friends at a secret location in Leeds before any of this. And then there might be the appearance at the open air bash in Wakefield not to mention an appearance at Phil's birthday bash in September. Not only that, although the venues are definately confirmed the dates aren't yet! OH WHAT A TANGLED WEB WE WEAVE! So things are starting to get exciting now and we look forward to the next rehearsals where hopefully 2 more songs will be added to the set list. One brand new song not yet attempted and one that has had a slight attempt at which hopefully we can nail down there and then. (still no clues as to the new material!) Been quiet over the last week or two as Dave's been on his hols and apparently has had his memory erased, hence the phone call today to ask what we were to be doing at next rehearsal. Meanwhile I've been trying to learn some lyrics, maybe found a new song to cover, see what everyone thinks later, and watched a few vids of bands who's songs we're covering, actually murder the song in question which gives us all hope! Now listen very carefully, for I shall only say this only once, I am hoping that after the next rehearsal we will have some new picies of the band, can't promise but if we have they will be on this site in a flash and you can say good god, it's true they do look old. Reet, thats it for now, I'm off for some cheese and crackers, Swiss cheese of course, poor old Switzerland!! TTFN Snick.xx
Part 1
Well I dont supose this bit of tour blog can be called tour blog, cos quite obviously wer're not touring at the mo, but we are rehearsing so that could be classed as part of the tour could it not? Yes? No? Well tough, wer're gunna do it any way, so there. Now where was I, ah yes, the Tour Blog. Firstly,I'd best explain. The purpose of this blog is to give you the reader an insight into what the band are doing, music wise, backstage and in in general, hopefully on a weekly basis, although this could vary for all kinds of reasons, you know, time, state of mind, state of intoxication etc!Rather like a diary you say, well, yes, rather like a diary, and if events from our early days are anything to go by I'm sure things will be quite amusing. Oh I do wish we could have had this site in those days! I digress, so to get the ball rolling....you obviously know the band are in rehearsal and things are going well, by the end of the next rehearsal we should have 12 songs on the go, (only another 20 to go! only joking, n,n,n,n,nineteen! In 1974 England scored a measly n,n,n,n,nineteen, the West Indies, n,n,n,n, three hundred and thirty seven!) Dave has already decided the opening number and follow up, which to be fair are probably the best that we do at the mo, but the rest will drop into shape I'm sure. Notice I'm still not giving anything away! Oh aye, went for a pint after rehearsal last night and bumped into Phil Bridge, who was our driver and one of the road crew when we did the Britain in a Day bash all them years ago and who I haven't seen for about a year. Told him we'de been rehearsing to which he replied..."F*****g hell." Make of that what you will! I digress again, so rehearsals aside, the other talking point is this open air bash at some boozer or other in Wakefield on August Bank Holiday Sunday afternoon. Now this is still a bit up in the air if you like as we know Phil can't do it cos he'll be roastin his chestnuts in Turkey! and come to that Mark is still uncertain as to whether he'll be available, so it might not be a goer at all. But if Mark is available, then the original Tiger Bay bassist from 1988, Johnny Jessup, has agreed to stand in for Phil. Looks like we'll be doing about 5 or 6 numbers, so at the current song timings we should be on and off in about 5 minutes!! So we'll just have ta wait and see, will keep ya all informed. Anything else? you ask. Well, we could really do with some new photos of the band, so watch this space and i'm hoping there will be a little video (currently being put together)coming soon, basically to promote the band, again watch this space! Reet folks thats it fa nar, catch ya later. Snick.xx
